Earlier after her birth, Isabelle’s daddy felt there was no need for a paediatrician (a waste of time and money). So after the jaundice saga and her shots at 1 month, her daddy was her very own private doctor (though mommy was a bit skeptical).

We haven’t seen a paediatrician in 7 months! Nan Chuang has been the one who decides whether she gets medication or not when she has the occasional fever or cold. He charts her growth by taking her to the clinic where he used to locum in the evenings (however inaccurate the readings may be).

Isabelle has always been on the small side of the scale, but within the so-called normal range of growth. However, we’re a bit concerned now, as her growth seemed to slow down a bit recently. With 1 week to go before she turns 8 months old, her weight stands at 6.8 kg and her height 65 cm. She drinks 5 oz of milk about every 4 hours, and eats porridge for lunch at the babysitter’s.

Alas daddy decided not to go through what we went through with jabbing Isabelle himself. At 14 weeks & 4 days, Sebastian currently weighs 6.05 kg and stands at 61.2 cm. What a significant difference!
